As we charge full force into an IoT (Internet of Things) world, the problems related to data storage, aggregation, accuracy, privacy, reliability, delivery timeliness, scalability, data management and data protection need to be addressed. We have been dealing with these aspects related to data for a long time, but the IoT world takes it to a whole new level. We need to rethink and design new solutions for new use cases. We’ll lay out the current state of the art for data storage and discuss the unique challenges of data storage for IoT.
Deepankar Das is currently the Head of Engineering EMC Data Domain’s File System. Furthermore he serves as an advisor to a number of startups in the cloud and storage spaces. He’s also been the Head of Software Engineering for Avalanche Technology, Violin Memory, and was the head of engineering at Kazeon which was acquired by EMC. In his career he’s also worked fo Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computer, and Vipro technologies to name a few.
He holds a BS in Physics from Utkal University and a MS in Computer Science from Andhra University.
